Egypt’s Citrus Exports to Land in 2 Main Markets

Agriculture Minister Al-Sayed El-Quseir has announced the imminent opening of two main markets for the export of Egyptian citrus fruits.

Egyptian agricultural products are currently exported to more than 160 countries, the minister said, without providing further details on the two new markets set to see the Egyptian crops.

El-Quseir said it was important to focus on research to serve the state's plan to develop livestock and agricultural production, as well as to solve problems facing farmers.

The minister also stressed the importance of the field irrigation modernization project in switching to modern irrigation instead of flood irrigation, achieving the maximum possible benefit from the country’s land and water resources.

The agriculture ministry previously said Egypt's agricultural exports reached 4.4 million tons from January 1 to October 21, despite the outbreak of the coronavirus, which affected international trade.
